I love fall!  The temperature cools down, the leaves turn the trees into one of God’s finest artworks.  The apples weigh down the branches of the trees in the orchards. The only problem with fall is that it gets here so quickly each year and it goes just as fast!

Here at Little Utica the time is passing quickly, too.  There were so many things we wanted to do this year and I’m so pleased with how much we managed to accomplish.

Some of the highlights of the last few months were an outdoor worship service and church picnic at Mercer Park in Baldwinsville, a Blessing of the Animals as part of our worship ship one Sunday morning, and a barbeque and Ice Cream Social on the front lawn after our church service one Sunday morning,

We had an incredible Holy Week starting with Palm Sunday.  We relived the Last Supper with a dinner, scripture readings, and Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday.   On Good Friday, Doug MacEwen re-enacted the last week of Jesus’ life to the music of the cantata “The Song Of The Shadows.”  I can still feel the emotions we all shared as we heard the hammer strike the nails of the crucifixion.

We also celebrated the graduation of some of our young people in June and we welcomed 12 new members to our congregation.  The highlight of the ending of summer was the marriage of Lesa and John Kittredge on September 21st.

The church and the School House have been painted and we are now watching as the chrysanthemums bring a beautiful grand finale to summer and a welcoming to all who come to worship our Mighty God who has made all this possible.

We have much to fondly look back at, but the best thing is that we have so much to look forward to.  Praise be to God for the blessings He has poured out on our Little Utica family.

All God’s blessings,

Pastor Judy
