Oh, how wonderful to see trees budding and flowers blooming.  The “Great Artist” has painted His earthly canvas with every color I can imagine.  I hope you all have been able to enjoy it.

Winter may have been long with snow falling until the end of April, but time has gone so quickly for us as a church.  The Christmas season came and went much too fast.  We celebrated Ash Wednesday having a traditional evening service with the imposition of ashes.  We also took a look at our lives, both past and where we wanted them to be in the future.

Palm Sunday we celebrated Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

Maundy Thursday we shared dinner with Jesus and his Disciples as we all brought a dish to share, read Scripture, and shared the bread and cup of Holy Communion.

Good Friday was an unforgettable evening as we heard the powerful cantata “The Song Of The Shadows.”   Doug MacEwen, playing the part of Jesus Christ, journeyed from the welcoming cheers of “Hosanna” on Palm Sunday through the shouts of “Crucify him” and his death on the cross.

And, suddenly it was April, and it was Easter Sunday when we celebrated the fulfillment of God’s promise as Jesus was risen from the dead.  Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!!

The months went quickly as we did so much, and now we have so many other things going on to keep us busy!    Mothers Day.  Church picnic on May 20th, Blessing of the Animals on June 10th, Fathers Day, a Sunday morning worship service on the front lawn….

…and so much more.  They say: “Many hands make light work.”  With so much planned, it’s God’s blessing that our congregation continues to grow.  We plan to welcome 11 people into membership within the next few weeks.

Lastly, but certainly not the least, I want to thank all of you for what you do for Little Utica AND for me.  I had no qualms about leaving the church in your more than capable hands and for your willingness to step up to cover for me when I had my recent surgeries.  I am so blest to be your pastor.

May God continue to bless Little Utica UMC and it’s faithful congregation.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Judy Todt
