United Methodist Women

 of Little Utica UMC
After 3 months of being closed, our New 2 You Boutique reopened to serve our community on Saturday, June 6th.  The School House also opened for the year on the same day. Both stores will be open every Thursday from 9-11 am, and also on the first Saturday of every month. The exception to this will be in July, when we will be open on Saturday July 11th, and not on the 4th of July.

At our last UMW meeting on March 7th, we had a guest speaker, Sheila Dion, who founded the organization “Erin’s Angels.”  Erin’s Angels is an organization which strives to ensure that no child in the Phoenix School District goes hungry on weekends. Each Friday, the backpacks of children who have been identified as being “food insecure” are filled with enough food to last through the weekend. Erin’s Angels depends entirely on donations and volunteers. We, along with the congregation at Little Utica, voted to support Erin’s Angels as our newest mission. Our support will continue with the reopening of our church for in-person services.
Although these past few months have been difficult for everyone, we are very grateful that we have been able to stay connected as a church family. A huge “Thank you” goes out to Doug MacEwen for setting up Zoom online services, and making it happen each and every week. In addition to keeping us connected, these services have enabled many to attend who would have otherwise been unable to.
Looking ahead, we are planning a half-price sale at both Boutiques later in the summer. Stop in and see all of the new merchandise that we have to offer. The date of our half-price sale will be publicized as it gets closer, so keep an eye out for this great opportunity to purchase back-to-school and household items at very low prices.
As always, a heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to our valued customers for your ongoing support, which includes your generous donations. We are grateful for the return to normalcy, and look forward to seeing our regular, as well as new customers. Just a reminder that customers must wear masks, and hand sanitizer will be available for use at each entrance. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate through this unprecedented situation.

Blessings to All,

Donna Fingland, UMW President
